Urban Arrow has built its identity around the family cargo bike with a front-loading box. Since 2011, the brand has been developing and refining this concept with the Family, FamilyNext and FamilyNext².
With the Breeze, Urban Arrow is applying its experience in family transport to a different format today. This longtail is narrower and rides more like a classic bicycle, while children and luggage are carried at the rear.

Two concepts for family transport
On the Family models, the cargo area is located between the cyclist and the front wheel. The frame, steering and riding position have been developed around this box to keep the centre of gravity low.
Children and luggage always remain within your field of vision. The EPP box provides a lightweight and shock-resistant space, while the three-point safety belts and various accessories make it possible to adapt the bike to the family's needs.
The Breeze opts for a different layout. Passengers and luggage take their place on an extended rear luggage carrier. This concept makes the bike narrower, makes parking easier and offers a riding feel that is closer to that of a traditional bicycle.
These two concepts cater to different needs, yet follow the same logic: making the bicycle a transport solution that is genuinely practical for everyday life. On compatible models, the Urban Arrow Connected module also adds movement alerts and position tracking for the bike.
Cargo bikes, developed in the Netherlands and assembled in Europe
The story of Urban Arrow begins in 2011 in Amsterdam. The founders, Jorrit and Gerald, were looking for an electric solution to transport their children and belongings through the city, without systematically depending on a car.
The brand initially concentrated on the family cargo bike with a front loading box. The Family laid the foundations for this concept and was later complemented by the FamilyNext and FamilyNext². According to Urban Arrow, there are currently more than 100,000 bikes of the brand on the road in 26 countries.
The arrival of the Breeze marks a new step. For the first time, Urban Arrow is applying its experience in family transport to a longtail, in response to cyclists who prefer a more conventional riding experience and a narrower bike.
The bicycles are developed in the Netherlands and assembled exclusively in Europe, including in Amsterdam and at the Pon.Bike factory in Kėdainiai, Lithuania. In addition, Urban Arrow works together with specialised manufacturers such as Bosch, Enviolo and Schwalbe.
Since 2025, Urban Arrow has stated that 98% of its frames are made from aluminium produced without the use of fossil fuels, in order to reduce the environmental impact of production.
Supercycles’ vision
The choice between a front-loading cargo bike and a longtail depends not only on the number of children you want to transport. Handling, parking, available access and the way the bike will be used also play an important role.
With a box at the front, the passengers and luggage always remain visible. It offers a directly accessible load space, but requires more space to park and manoeuvre the bike.
The Breeze is smaller and rides more like a classic bike. However, the children sit at the back, and the luggage rack equipment must be adapted to their age, height and the weight you are carrying.
The motorisation, battery and accessories must then be chosen based on the terrain, frequency of use, distances travelled and the actual transport weight.
Our role is to help you compare both concepts in real-world conditions. Whenever possible, we let you try out the bicycle and show you how to use the stand, set off with a load and perform the first low-speed manoeuvres.

For a tried-and-tested family cargo bike with a box in the front
The Family forms the historical basis of the Urban Arrow range. The EPP box at the front, the low centre of gravity and the three-point seatbelts are designed for journeys with children and luggage.
It is suitable for families looking for a tried-and-tested solution for school runs, grocery shopping and daily commutes. With various accessories, the box can be adapted to suit passengers and weather conditions.
For greater comfort and integration
The FamilyNext adds features such as a suspension front fork, a more spacious box, a higher backrest and an improved harness system. The emphasis here is on comfort for intensive family use.
The FamilyNext² retains this front section, but modernises the rear frame, cable routing, lighting and chain guard. It is intended for families looking for further integration and a bike that can easily be used by multiple riders.
For a more compact family longtail
The Breeze is the first longtail that Urban Arrow has developed. Children and luggage take their place at the rear, making the bike narrower and the handling closer to that of a classic bicycle.
He is equipped with a Bosch Cargo Line motor, an Enviolo hub and suspension forks. Thanks to the MIK-HD interfaces, the front and rear equipment can be adapted to suit the family's needs.
For deliveries and professional use
Urban Arrow also develops bikes for professional use. The Shorty offers a compact size and can be equipped with a lockable lid, while the Cargo L or XL can be fitted with various cargo boxes for parcels, meals, tools or technical interventions.
For larger volumes, the Tender has a three-wheeled design and can carry up to 300 kg and 2,500 litres. The model and the cargo box must be chosen based on weight, volume, available access and the frequency of deliveries.
